The maintenance phase, also called phase 2 of the complex decongestive therapy (CDT), is for conservation and optimisation of the treatment results of the lymph oedema in the decongestion phase (phase 1). The oedema treatment with compression. To be more specific: the treatment by means of compression stockings, bandages and wraps.  In this module we will limit ourselves to compression stockings though. You will be guided through the different stockings which can be divided into  circular-knitted (without seam) and flat-knitted (with seam) products.  

Also, we will discuss the use of silver, we will learn, hysteresis and stiffness and we will talk about the different materials and their therapeutic applications. After this online training you will know all about the differences and when to use which type of stocking. In fact, did you know that in the various guidelines compression is seen as the most important form of lymphoedema treatment?

In this short online training the emphasis is on compression options in lymphedema patients, especially in those situations where the regular compression solutions are not sufficient. 
In order to gain a good understanding of the situation, we will delve deeper into the physiology of the lymphatic system, anamnesis, the various forms of (early) diagnosis and the treatable aspects and assessment of the lymphedema patient. We show you the various Juzo products on the basis of various case studies. You will receive various useful tips and tricks that are clarified with the help of patient cases. 
 
Take the advantage of the opportunity to discuss your specific patient cases in the field of lymphological care with us, if you want. Together we will find solutions, for example, how the compression care can be coordinated and patient-oriented, which add-ons and special equipment make sense and how and when the fitting should take place.

In this module, after a theoretical introduction, you will be introduced to the extensive possibilities that exist in the treatment of oedemas using wraps in both the reduction phase and the maintenance phase. Based on the stepped care principle: the patient is not treated heavier than strictly necessary. Thus, the patient is first provided with the simplest intervention appropriate to their condition and symptoms. 

You will learn how the various components of adjustable compressive devices (ACD) can be either used as a bandage for oedema reduction, as a self-management tool or in addition to the medical elastic compression stockings (MECS) in the maintenance phase.

Due to the demographic development vascular diseases and metabolic dysfunction will increase in the population and therefore also chronical skin defects like e.g. ulcus cruris venosum (UCV). In the centre of the treatment of a UCV there is always compression. A doctor will pass his or her medical knowledge and explains triggers, diagnostics and therapy of skin defects. The skin and the different kinds of injuries of the skin 
In this module you will be introduced to the structure and formation of the skin and we go through different kinds of injuries and its results and the resulting consequences.

Wound healing and different types of scars 
In this online training we discuss the normal wound healing (why a scar is formed) and you will learn more about scar definitions and what determines scar formation. Also, we talk about the extend to which scars differ from each other and what could be considered as potential therapy.  

Scar management – non- invasive treatment options such as in particular pressure garments and silicone

How do patients experience the phases after woundhealing and living with burns, how do patients experience their life with burn scars?  This module will help you to better understand patients and cope with potential concerns they are dealing with on a daily basis.
